What happened at the Trustee Forum Manchester 2008?
While the financial markets were in meltdown, trustees found refuge at Engaged Investor’s Trustee Forum Manchester. The event featured seminars by leading figures from across the industry and clinics where trustees could grill the speakers in depth at informal meetings.
A highlight of the event was a lunchtime talk by Philip Coggan, capital markets editor and writer of Buttonwood column for The Economist magazine, which included lessons from financial and economic history and his predictions for the coming year. A new addition for this event was a Question Time style panel debate where the event’s special guests handled questions from the audience. Engaged Investor’s executive editor, Maggie Williams, chaired an expert panel that included Mike Barnes, chair of trustees of Student Union Superannuation Scheme and Engaged Investor trustee of the year, Philip Coggan and Steve Delo, President of the Pensions Management Institute.
